Duly Noted~

I love when my emailed quotes-of-the-day all line up into one blatantly obvious message... heard LOUD AND CLEAR.

Message #1...
"When the water starts boiling it is foolish to turn off the heat."
-- Nelson Mandela

Message #2...
It's precisely when in the throes of activity, giving 100%, focused and concentrating with all your strength and might, Reenie, that it's easiest to forget I exist at all. Even though that's precisely when I can do the most, with just a nod from you.
Like right now, perhaps?

LR in progress~

Today I finally had a chance to start playing with the new living room!
I was waiting to share pictures until things are 'done', since there is such a huge transformation.... but I realized that it will be a long time until things are "completed", so what the hay, here they are, "in-progress".
Left Living Room wall untouched. Wood paneling and 1974 striped shag rug.

Today, from a bit of a distance... that's my mom.
Slider before....

Today, with Xena watching the Bafflehead ducks swimming in the pond.
(ignore cluttery deck)
Shelves are still a cluttered mess... only unpacked, not arranged.

New couch comes Friday.... will retake pics.
I bought Jackie's purple couch and chairs... totally fun.
(Jackie is moving to a condo in the Pearl. Same time. It's like we are giving birth at the same time. Totally useless to help one another... plus it's funny she is moving to the city and I got a farm. Maybe we will trade homes on the weekends? hmmm)

Walls are still painted paneling, but the paint will just not stick properly to it, so before we trim everything out, Paul plans to drywall. Still need drapes.... no time to shop for now.
I LOVE how my fancy rug looks over the neutral carpet we chose.
So cozy.

Off to enjoy my last evening with my mom before she flies back to PA!

A magical place!

It's been almost TWO weeks since moving day. Crazy.
Still snuggling in and getting to know the place.
I miss my studio BAD, but am easily distracted by all the beauty!
Also pics of the kitchen-in-progress.

Please be patient...

Jet streams going over the mountain... so pretty.

Driving in the lane, a "Welcome Home" photo.

Pond... the focal point of the "Happy Place"~

View across the living room and out the sliders.

Things are moving along nicely... above are a few shots taken on my phone yesterday.
Please be patient with my postings until after next week. Our stuff sits in boxes awaiting the big mover-dudes.
MONDAY is the day.
Two more days until new carpet arrives... SO much exhausting fun.
Stay tuned for more adventures and photos...
I miss my studio SO BAD.

My Perfect Protest~

Sitting here on the couch way too early this morning trying to wrap my brain around all that needs done until moving day.
Of course I am mentally berating myself for not having more done and not being more organized.
I am forever hard on myself... I know I expect unreasonable things from myself & I would never ask another to take on that much. AND if one of my friends treated herself this way I would tell her STOP IT! But yet I still do it... so this morning I am releasing myself from my unrealistic expectations.

So, although a bit LATE, (see? I am not perfect!)
Here is my Perfect Protest~

I vow to myself to enjoy this amazing move and to just chillAX and absorb what an amazing gift this all is...

Go see Brené Brown's Blog and watch her Perfect Protest video...

Farm "Before" Pictures~

Pictures taken the first time we walked in the house as owners!

Changes happen so fast and I wanted to capture it all in it's true 'before' state.

Done!

Deedlely Deedlely done done done.
We are closed and recorded with the county.
WE HAVE A FARM!!!
Now to go cry by my pond.
Sniff.
Feeling very grateful right now.

Our "Happy Place"~

I took this shot while waiting to meet with the title company and sign our 60 some signatures.
A really cool moment that I wanted to capture for my 365 album.

Today is the 'offical' day that the farm is ours. Late this afternoon to be exact.
WA is different than PA with it's processing. In a PA closing everything happens at once at a very formal meeting. Here in WA it is an informal signing of papers and the next day everything gets recorded with the county.
Once we receive that call that all is recorded we will be heading to the farm to sit by the pond an cry a bit.
Taking our dogs for the first time to run and play.

The list making has begun and a plan is in order... gotta have things planned out to avoid chaos at the other end. This is my 14th?! time I am moving (I know--phew!) and the last for a long time.
I don't want the unpacking to drag out longer than it has to.

I will take a LOT of pictures later today.
Now for the fun part!
yay.

pack pack pack

HellO.
I am still here, just pack pack packing my world into tidy moving boxes.
Closing is to be sometime this week! Moving in a few weeks...

skippity skip!

Here are some before and after shots of my studio chill-out space.... I have LOVED this space.

Goodbye sweet space.

After

This last pic? My art supplies.
Hilarious. LOT of boxes there.

So.. onward!
Been a weird week or so... packed all I can for now and just waiting for closing so I can get at the farm house with some paint! Not used to being stuck in a place with no specific plans or list.
Cannot spin or knit due to tendonitis in my elbow.
Cannot hike or walk in shoes since I broke my poor toe!

Been sewing some and taking it chill because once those sweet keys are in hand it will go FAST.

I'm BACK!

Wow!
It's been a wild ride the past month and a half!
Not that anything is ever really calm or normal around here...
But even more than our normal crazy. Funny how when I read through my past blog entries this seems to be the common phrase. So... we are crazy. Things are never boring around here.

So what is instigating this new found insanity?
We are buying a farm!
This is a lifelong dream coming to fruition for both Paul and myself.
We are so very excited to have found our dream property, complete with a forest, fields, a mountain view and a pond... with a granny-chic farm house that is just waiting for me to reenificate!
A magical place, as you can see from the photos!

Here is the slideshow from my flickr album that holds many more images.

So we are all about the CLEANING OUT right now.
Lotsa items going in the shop.
Purging out fibers, yarns and this week, BOOKS.
Moving in a few short weeks.
Stay tuned for more follies...

Color Inspiration~

I have skeins of Malabrigo hanging by my studio window.
Right outside the window is my planter, with geraniums, salvia and nasturtium in the exact same delicious colors.

Changes....

I feel crazed lately. More crazed than my "normal" crazed.
We are in the midst of negotiations on a farm. Our dream farm.
Meanwhile I am trying to keep my brains occupied. I cannot pack yet. Waiting makes me crazy.
So I am PURGING.
Not puke-purging, FIBER purging.
It's sick how much fiber I have. Do not call 'Hoarders' on me. I used to wholesale my yarns to many many shops. But now there is no longer any reason to have THIS MUCH fiber on hand.
And the thought of moving it? sigh. tiresome.
So .... I have been listing what I do not wish to keep in the shop.
You really need to go and see it. I have organized it into categories, with very little pictures. Pictures take a lot of time to take and modify, and upload, etc. So to keep me sane, keep time manageable and prices fair, I took the bare minimum photos.

Also.. I recently listed over 20 new handspuns!
Beauties from Elizabeth of Yarn Punk and Therese of Jump Sheep!
There are now THREE pages of Art Yarns!

Go ahead and roll around in it. It will make you so very happy.

I am off to find my knitting and a cold beverage.
Have a SPECTACULAR weekend.
MWAH!
